Job Title: High School College & Career Coordinator

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered High School College & Career Coordinator to support students in planning for post-secondary success. This role is responsible for guiding students through college applications, career exploration, workforce readiness, and scholarship opportunities. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about helping students achieve their academic and professional goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support & Advising:
- Provide one-on-one and group advising on college admissions, career pathways, and post-secondary planning.
- Assist students with college applications, essays, resumes, and financial aid forms (e.g., FAFSA).
- Develop individualized graduation and post-secondary plans.
College & Career Programming:
- Plan and coordinate college visits, career fairs, and workshops.
- Organize events focused on financial literacy, resume writing, and interview skills.
- Facilitate career exploration opportunities such as internships, job shadowing, and mentorships.
Data & Tracking:
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, applications, and outcomes.
- Track and report post-secondary enrollment and career placement data.
- Use data to identify gaps and improve programming.
Partnership Development:
- Build relationships with colleges, universities, trade schools, and local employers.
- Collaborate with community organizations to expand student opportunities.
- Coordinate guest speakers and alumni panels.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with counselors, teachers, and administrators to support student success.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about college and career readiness.
- Support school-wide initiatives related to graduation and post-secondary planning.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services, or related field.
- Experience working with high school students.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of college admissions and career readiness processes.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field.
- Experience with financial aid processes (FAFSA, scholarships).
- Familiarity with college and career readiness platforms/tools.
