Job Title: Middle School Health and Technology Teacher.
Location: North Carolina.
Reports To: MS Principal.
Position Summary:
The Middle School Health and Technology Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, standards-based instruction in both health education and technology courses. This position supports students in developing essential life skills, digital literacy, and responsible decision-making aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective instruction in health education and technology courses aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
- Teach topics such as personal health, wellness, nutrition, mental health, digital citizenship, and basic technology skills.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
- Integrate technology tools and real-world applications into daily instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
- Promote responsible use of technology and digital resources.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
- Collaborate with colleagues, counselors, and administration to support student success.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
- Participate in professional development and school initiatives.
- Follow all school and district policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Technology Education, Education, or a related field.
- Valid North Carolina teaching license in Health/Physical Education, Technology Education, or related licensure area (or eligibility to obtain).
- Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
- Knowledge of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Health and Technology.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience integrating instructional technology into the classroom.
- Knowledge of digital tools, keyboarding, basic coding, or multimedia applications.
- Ability to connect health concepts to real-life decision-making and student experiences.
- Willingness to support extracurricular or school-wide wellness or technology initiatives.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position following the traditional school calendar.
- Requires standing, walking, and use of instructional technology and classroom equipment.
